Affiliate and advertising disclosure

As of the review date below, no affiliate link and no advertisement is live on this site. This page is published in advance so that the rules exist before the money does.

Affiliate links

When a link to a VPN provider earns a commission, it will be marked inline, at the link, in plain words. Commission never changes the ranking or the verdict of a test. Planned programmes are NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark and Proton VPN.

Where an affiliate link may appear

• After a leak verdict on /vpn-check, and only when the verdict is "partial leak" or "not masked".
• Inside the "hide my IP" and "change my IP address" guides, after the methodology section, not before it.
• On the VPN leak-test page, next to tests we actually ran, with dates and raw results.

Where it will never appear

• Above your IP address, anywhere.
• On the homepage as a banner or a hero.
• After a "VPN working" verdict. If nothing is wrong, we have nothing to sell you.
• Attached to invented risk. No "your IP is exposed" copy, no security score that exists to justify a purchase.

Advertising

Display advertising, if it launches, comes from a single advertising network. Slots are below the fold, never inside the answer, and they reserve their space in the layout so nothing jumps. Ad scripts load after the page has finished loading, and in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they do not load at all until you consent through a certified consent platform. Ad slots are kept off tool pages with abuse-sensitive functions such as the port checker.

Not sponsored

No provider pays for placement, for a review, or for a position in a comparison table. Nothing on this site is a paid post. If that ever changes, it will be labelled as an advertisement, at the top, before you read a word of it.
